Thanksgiving is only a week away. This year, Thanksgiving with be at our house, for the first time! All the meal items have been assigned, and dinner time has been set. But while all the feast plans are set, it’s also important to think about the little Thanksgiving guests. While everyone is busy baking and basting, why not get the kids in the action too with some Turkey themed STEM activities! Here are the 8 Turkey STEM activities we’ll be adding to Thanksgiving this year.

Turkey STEM Activities for Kids
Turkey Color by Coding
My oldest two will learn more about coding with this printable Turkey coding sheet! Supplies for this STEM activity are simple. Perfect for the chaos that can be family gatherings!
Simple Turkey Counting Activity
Make turkeys using craft sticks and feathers, and help your preschoolers learn to count to 10! Once the turkeys are all made, you’ll also have a great way to keep practicing their numbers.

No-Stress Thanksgiving STEM Challenge Science Experiment
Another quick and easy Turkey STEM activity! All you need are some feathers and water. All three of my boys will be able to do this together!

Sparkly Turkey Feathers Slime Science Experiment Fun
What kid doesn’t love slime? Slime is a great way for kids to watch a heat free chemical reaction, and have something to play with as well. With three boys, we’ll probably be doing this STEM activity outside!
Preschool Counting Thanksgiving Activity
Oh I love fresh, homemade play dough! Add some feathers and pumpkin spice, and you have the perfect fine motor counting activity for preschoolers. I’ve already been doing this activity with my preschool class!

Turkey Gobble Thanksgiving Science for Kids
The kids will have fun making their own Turkey sounds with fun STEM activity. They will also learn how a turkey makes the gobble gobble sound!
Turkey Balloon Races
My boys are going to love this one! Race turkeys around the room using balloons! So much fun for the big kids as well.
Exploring Melting Point: Turkey Timer STEM
Once dad is finishing smoking the Turkey (I stay out of the kitchen for Thanksgiving. It all turns out edible that way ;)), the boys can explore the pop-up turkey timer and explore the melting point of the alloy within the timer.
